Lone Worker Safety System

What Is a Lone Worker Safety System?

Today, the evolution of technology has significantly increased the use of Lone Worker Safety Systems in both outdoor and indoor environments. Since employees—especially lone workers—are often expected to work under harsh conditions and, in many cases, in remote areas, it has become more essential than ever to build a solid framework that ensures maximum protection.

The term lone worker is commonly associated with situations where an individual works under risky conditions or without direct supervision. If you are not a lone worker, you may not pay much attention to it; however, if you manage a business, employ workers, or supervise several lone employees, you should place particular focus on implementing a Lone Worker Protection Policy.

We aim to highlight the proactive measures a company must take to provide a safe and healthy environment for its lone workers and to propose suitable solutions. Using wireless communication and mobile technology, the system enables monitoring of employees working in enclosed areas or restricted zones. It automatically detects emergencies such as fainting, immobility, or loss of activity and notifies the central safety unit and designated individuals via email or message. It is an occupational health and safety system designed to ensure rapid response and continuous protection.

Lone Worker Monitoring Systems

When a lone worker is not seen by other employees or a supervisor, no one will be aware if they are experiencing an emergency. If no one is nearby at the moment of an incident, it becomes completely impossible to assist the lone worker.

In other words, a Lone Worker Safety System means exactly what the term describes:

A worker who is entirely alone. Typically, when we talk about lone workers, we refer to field service personnel, construction workers, and individuals who operate away from the rest of the company’s workforce.

Key Points for the Lone Worker Safety System

How Does It Work?

  • Readers and zone tags are placed in the areas that need to be monitored.

  • Workers are given a wearable worker tag or ID badge that does not interfere with their tasks.

  • In an emergency, an alarm is triggered at the control center when the worker presses the button on the tag, or automatically if the worker becomes immobile, remains in a horizontal position, or falls.

  • The location and status of the worker in need of help are identified and sent to the control center. Additionally, authorized personnel are notified via SMS or email.

  • Optionally, location and status information can be monitored through the ‘monitoring software’ or the ‘web application’.

  • The software and hardware are 100% locally manufactured.
